man.. im so tempted to get this. i was talking to adrienne and was saying how it would be so much fun.. and then quickly corrected myself.. it would be funny. i think it would get disgustingly gross after a week. but man.. imagine the money you would save.
there are 275 servings in that bucket. if you ate 6 servings a day.. you will have enough food for 45 days. thats one and a half months!! the current online price is $75 shipped.. but i read that you can buy it in the local costco store for $50. $50 over 1.5 months.. that means you average about $30 a month for food.
I dont know if you've counted your monthly food expenditures.. but its nearly impossible to buy your own food and keep your monthly food bill to a mere $30 per month. In college, i tried to cut down expenses to a minimum and live on a meager diet. i lived off of eggs, costco dinner rolls, costco ham and pasta.. someting like that. i was able to spend just under $100 a month... thats about $1 per meal. this emergency survival bucket totally blows my efforts out of the water.. daang.. and a 20 year shelf life?!?
adrienne and i often talk about things that are blog-worthy.. and we get all excited about random stuff. i just came across this sweet deal on emergency food and was telling her about it : ) i was saying.. if i actually bought it and lived off of it.. it would make a really good blog. she said.. yea.. it would.. but said that i probably wouldnt blog about it.. so.. im blogging about it! im not gonna buy the thing.. but i think that if i were in college.. i probably would be all over this bucket of goodness..

| last nights dream..
i dreamed that i was in china teaching english.. to these three local chinese students.. we were having a blast.. : ) all i remember was that i was teaching them to say the word "welcome" correctly.. not like "welcom-eh".. dunno why.. but thats all i remember.
to our china and malaysia teams.. we're praying for ya. we wish we could be there with you..

two things ive learned from my first month of marriage with adrienne
1. i need to get a tan
so.. based on my keen observation and listening skills.. ive determined that adrienne is telling me that i need to get a tan. when she says "wow.. you are bright".. she is not referring to my amazing intellect. or when she puts her arm next to mine and says.. "hm.. we gotta do something about that".. she is not referring to my crazily muscular arms. : ).. no she is simply telling me to get a tan..
perhaps.. we can do something about this problem of mine in.. hawaii!! : ).. but then again.. i like being kinda white.. to me.. the whiteness of a person is directly proportional to their modesty.. sometimes.. : ) or just of their inability to get a tan..
2. i am a clean FREAK!!
seriously.. in the sense that if things reach below a certain threshold of cleanliness.. i freak out. i seriously didnt realize this before. i think before marriage.. when i had my own room.. as long as MY stuff was clean and organized.. everything was fine to me. but now EVERYTHING is shared.. there is no such thing as MY stuff anymore. ive found myself freaking out on several occasions now. : ) clutered workspaces.. drawers not being closed all the way.. stuff in random places. i just freak out. seriously.. in retrospect.. its kinda funny.. but at the time.. its not fun for me.. i get frustrated.. and am not very nice. : ( i totally didnt realize this about myself. im kinda surprised.
i wrote this blog partially because i needed to relax.. 15 minutes ago.. i was freaking out : )
ive been working on be more chill about neatness.. and adrienne has been working on being neater. we've both made some good progress : ).. but both have a ways to go. thanks adrienne for being patient with me when i freak out.. : ) seriously.. i need to chill..

| i have a wife!!? so ive been married for 2 and 1/2 weeks now.. how's it going? its cool : ) it's fun, sanctifying and beautiful...
fun..
now i have a buddy to do everything with.. i now go to church.. come home.. do some mini Bible studies.. cook and clean.. eat breakfast.. lunch and dinner.. with my most favoritest lady (hi mom.. i still love you too). adrienne is chill.. kick back and i can be goofy around her.. just like i am with my family.. marriage is definitely a lot of fun..
sanctifying and beautiful..
so recently we went through all the gifts and cards that we've received so far (thank you everyone!!).. many of the cards included some nice personal notes but one particular card really caught my attention.. Pastor Chen's (very short) card something to the effect that through marriage i will "know more about His love". his card wasnt emphasizing my love for adrienne.. or her love for me.. or pastor chen's love for us.. but.. God's love for us.. interesting.. very cool.
that has got to be the coolest thing about marriage.. learning about Christ's love for us.. how beautiful is that?!? even lil epiphanies are sooo golden. seriously.. esp in the rough times (however rough a love struck couple.. 2 weeks into their marriage can be).. i find myself thinking.. wow.. so this is a glimpse of how much God loves us..
final thought..
God really knew what He was doing in designing this marriage thing.. for reals.. it's deep stuff.. the whole mystery of marriage.. God's redemptive plan.. Christ and the church.. wow.. good stuff. praise the Lord!!

the only thing is.. you still gotta pay for shipping.. so the final cost is.. $3.44 for 50 prints shipped.. which comes out to about.. 6.9 cents per print.. shipped! a very good deal! especially from snapfish.
the only place that comes close is Winkflash.. but sometimes my prints come out very dark from Winkflash. Snapfish is my online photo printing company of choice.. and at 6.9 cents a print.. shipped.. its doesnt get much better than that! : )
